I'd get that RUF and rebuild it over several years (that's how long it would take given the availability & cost of parts) but when done - DAMN you'd have one fine car!

I'm sure that this is a very naive question, but how can that S2 have a clean title? It's clearly totaled (by the standard of cost to repair / value).

Nope the title is not salvage. probably owned by an individual who had no insurance, if the accident was their fault with no ins then no insurance would be able to declare it a total. Owner then probably consigned it to copart.

Hmm, very interesting. I should really look into this. What is the bid at now? As a person who has watched this stuff, do you have any kind of estimate what this would go for? Are the bids usually very low or right about what the car is worth? What Im asking is, Do people pay big money for these even though they are totaled?

Btw, who cares if the car has a salvaged title. If youre getting the car for yourself and you know it only has minor damage...just fix it up and drive!

You might say resale value....but F that. A porsche isnt an investment, its a money pit.

Unfortunately that's more true than not in the "early" watercoolers.
That statement really depends on the model and year (and of course "collectability" factors).
