Question Two Technicl Questionds: Strut spring nut and wheel bearing removal

I'm working on the front end of my car and I've run into two problems.

1. Where can I find the 22 mm wrench with an open top so that I can put the 7 mm allen key in the top of the strut. I went to Sears and the sales people had no idea what I was talking about.
Do you guys?

2. I am replacing my front wheel bearings but I can't get the inside bearing out. I tried prying it out but the rubber seal or something is holding it in place.

Thanks for your help.

Mickey.
You need to remove the seal, in order to rebuild the bearing. If you're replacing the bearings, you'll need to heat the hub in order to remove the inner race.

How do I remove the seal? Is the seal the rubber part or the loose metal disc inside of the hub?

Thanks

I bought mine at Sears. It think it's called a "deep offset box wrench". The wrench shaft has two 45degree bends in it, one at the end near the box section. This allows it to seat down in the recessed area where the strut nut is. I think it's on their website, I remember doing a search and printing off the sheet and taking it into the store with me. The guy had to get it out of the back room. If you were closer to me you could just borrow mine...

Thanks for the info. I'll check their site now. I've already found a few Sears locations near my job.

Thanks,

Mickey

Thanks Tifosiman.

I checked the Sears website and they have the wrench for $10. Interestingly the Sears Item # 00944367000 has 944 in it.

Thanks again,

Mickey

Exellent! Glad I could help!

If you don't already have a long 7mm allen wrench, you may want to pick one of those up while you are there as well. 7mm is an odd size, I didn't have it in any of my various allen wrench kits.
