Default E-brake on hot rotors??

One of the first lessons I learned at my first race drivng school was not to come into the pits after a hot lap and put the emergency brake on.

Thinking was - that was sure fire way to warp the rear rotors.

But in the 944 - the E-brake doesn't clamp onto the rear rotors - rather it expands two brake shoes against the inside of the rear hub.

I've just spent the better part of $2K Canadian sorting out (with fantastic results) the brakes on the S2.

Is there any danger in setting the e-brake after a hot lap - or even after a spririted drive home?

Putting the car in the garage actually calls for setting the e-brake as I open the garage door.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

Go ahead and use it, that's why they're an internal drum, like the new Vette. With cable-actuated calipers as parking brake, it's definitely a quick way to warp good rotors.
