Default Help! Speedo suddenly insane

For my 1991 944S2 with 166,000 miles:

My speedometer stopped working yesterday. I looked at it and it said I was going 64mph. When I increased throttle and rpms went from 3000 to 3750, the speedo didn't move. When I slowed down below 62mph, it started moving, but sometimes it gets stuck at 18mph for a bit at stops.

I heard somewhere the ABS sensors are used since 1991 for speedo readings. For a couple years, my panic light (!) and the ABS light flickers on randomly, maybe once in every hour of driving.

So, where would you start looking? Speedo cable binding? ABS sensors bad/dirty?

Thanks,
Bryan
