Borla XR-1
I just ordered a Borla XR-1 Oval Sportsman (16", 2.5" In/Out) and am going to get it welded in this weekend. Few Questions:
1. Grassroots recorded a gain of ~6 hp on a regular 944 without any other exhaust work when using the Borla. I'm guessing my S with a racing dynamics high flow cat and a Borla will make around 10. Anybody have any experience with this or any gains from a high flow muffler on a 16V engine? I'm thinking about dynoing my car afterwards to see what I am putting down. If I can get ~200 at the crank I'd be happy. Currently, I will have a high flow racing cat, blazack chip, Borla XR-1, MSD Blaster2 Ignition Coil, K&N and a slightly richer mixture than normal on a well running engine with good compression.
2. On a side note, does anybody know if there is a rev limiter set on the Blazack chip? I have overrevved it a few times on the track and am worried I might blow a shift sometime and have an expensive piece of aluminum paperweight with a sucked valve. I'm emailing Marcus as we speak but any input would be appreciated.

The stock chip does have a rev limit, most aftermarket chips raise or eliminate this limit. If you have no limit or one that is higher than you would like you can use the 6AL and set a limit of your choosing. If you have a stock DME/chip, the limit is low enough and the 6AL can't raise it, it can only lower a limit by going active in before the DME limit does.
