Were those reference sensor hard to get to? You may go up to MAG and buy new ones just to eliminate that problem. I can't imagine them being too expensive. I think a new dme relay is also like 20 bucks. Never a bad idea to have a spare anyways. If I'm not home I'll give you the garage code again.

I just tested on the top side behind the intake manifold. Top one was reference i believe and bottom was speed sensor.

Ok, so I am a dumb ***. When it ran rough today, I forgot to plug the #2 plug wire in. Now it runs smooth. Except when under full load and higher rpms where it just stumbles. All of ignition stuff has been replaced except rotor button and plugs. I think that is where the problem lies. She is definately faster with the gutted cat though. Doze905 is still coming down to check compression and fuel pressure though. Hopefully my problems will be solved today... And cheaply..

Default I have no spark!!! Fixed!!!!

Ok doze905 and I did a compression check:\

1 - 134
2 - 134
3 - 132
4 - 133

Also the fuel pressure was at 35lbs at idle with the vacum line pulled.

The car is getting new spark plugs, because the current ones are platinum and we all know how platinum fails to work properly. Other than that, the car runs great, it seems like it hits the end of boost when you get on it, but that could be a spark plug rotor problem. I still need to switch the rotor out though. Someone please let me know if the numbers are good.

Compression mumbers are consistent, Fuel pressure seems ok as well.

Use Bosch coppers- Plats are hard on the coil.

I am mad and happy at the same time, that it seems like it was a simple tune up issue...

If you are like me you tend to think the worst and most expensive first

All's fair- nobody knows as long as it's running well!

Well folks, the trouble never ends. I got the new plugs and the car died again. Just like clock work. I haven't had a chance to try it again today. The Mega Squirt and Spark look more and more tempting every day.

Any ideas folks? I am going to try and replace the rotor from the working 87. Funny, the 86 is getting more and more ignition parts from the 87 every day. Maybe it will become an 87 turbo?

The problem seems to be solved for good. I replaced the rotor. The original had burn marks in the plastic. After replacing, I went and filled up and let the car get to temp. Then I got on back roads and really let loose. She hit max boost, real quick and drove like a bat out of hell, with no signs of stopping. Although, she is a bit (a lot, I can smell it) rich and my exhaust leak is coming back. But she really growls on boost and makes me happy again. So definately 944 fest here I come....
