Hello everyone,

I have a 1987 944s so the idle is electronically managed and unadjustable. Recently the car after coming off the gas and being put into neutral will drop down and idle at about 1200-1300 rpm and sometimes when letting off the gas and putting the car into neutral the revs drop down very slow. The car normally idled at around 1000 before it started acting up. I checked for vacuum leaks with smoke machine and got nothing. Any ideas for what to test next? The car does this when cold and warm

 

not sure if the same will happen on 944S but a regular 944 with rev hang if your unplug the tps. I had to drive my car for a week or two with it un plugged since my tps was acting up.

 

Did you ever figure this out? My 944 is having the same issue even with a new TPS.

 

Sticky cable or throttle body actuation not smooth. Clean throttle body, check for cable/throttle binding or resistance.
