Default MPG dropped, AFM?

Since I bought my car 9/ 2001 my mpg has been within 1 mpg =/- of 22.5 around town or long highway run, all of a sudden I'm getting 17-18.

The only thing I have recently done to the car is put on a 90,000 mile used AFM while chasing the stumbling idle problem, could the AFM be the culprit?

Also the MPG drop was sudden not gradual.

TIA

I did have a failed alignment attempt that left me with a decent pull to the left that I haven't had a chance to correct yet but a scrubbing tire could'nt have that much drag could it?

The AFM probably needs adjustment. I had one replaced on mine with a used one from my friend's shop and we were there for about an hour trying to adjust it.

Have you replaced the O2 sensor on your car also and did a cap and rotor???

No, they're about 2 years old, with $1.88 gas the 944 gets driven rarely now, the bike gets 45 mpg. Even when they were new I only got 22.5, the drop was too sudden for them..

What's it take to adj. the AFM?

You need to sell that thing to me and get a 951...

I'm also having gas mileage issues. My overdue tune-up is really starting to show.. I was getting a solid 26MPG, now it's down to 20 or so.

Could it also be the lousy blend of premium gas they are pushing on us?
