Default 914 alert in SF and Montery Bay areas

xpost

If you're in the bay area You just might see a HUGE amount of 914 cars running around.

75 914 cars with over 120 people registered

West Coast Classic

our 914 won't be there, (we'll be the lone front engine car, but not the only waterpumper....)

speaking of which (not to "hijack" this 914 thread).. here's something I just ran into while doing a search on something completely different:

Subaru 2.7 flat 6, porsche 914 engine conversion

Interestingly enough, the Subaru flat 6, boxer design came from blueprints from a German company that became insolvent in the early sixties. I actually own two of trucks by this manufacturer. The engines used is a flat four, 1.1 litre, fron-wheel drive and water cooled. Not a lot of power but enough for moving stuff and people "back in the day".

I wish I had known about it earlier -- I just left the Bay Area earlier this week! Oh well...
