It's funny because it's true!!! (thinking about gas prices today...)

won't be long before a tank of gas costs as much as a 944 turbo!

Yeah, I just paid over $2/gal for the first time in my life! At least the wife's car runs on regular, but I'm sure that will be over $2 soon enough!

Hey! There are still some of these older 924's and 931's that are in very nice condition and aren't all that cheap. What about the last version of the 924? The 924S...?

Where are the 924 guys here to stick up for these cars?

A nice 924s usually sells for more than a 944 n/a due to exclusivity. Ive seen nice 931's sell for higher than the going rate for a decent 951. Just because our cars ARE better...doesnt mean that the 924 series isnt valued at all.

Besides...its kind of ironic for 944 guys to criticize the 924's value. Our cars arent worth that much either.

....All while the 911 boys are laughing at us.

And we are laughing at them for paying twice as much for an inferior car. Air cooling??? Are you joking? How about that seating positiong? And why does it look like a beetle if you squint?

Back in the day, watercooling was for wimps. Ohhh but now since the 996 and now 997 has it, oh yeah, maybe it is better...we'll just "forget" all that crap we said before.

If you gave a 44 a 6cyl it would have been better in every way...

I am a 924 owner and it's sad to say that a lot of that is true. The NA's are basically worthless, a decent clean turbo will fetch about $4k tops and the 924S's aren't really worth much either, the last few I've seen have gone for around $2k and they were in pretty decent shape. Most of us 924 owners still have our cars and maintain them because we love them not because they are fast or are worth a lot of money.

I think it's kind of funny that you guys pick on the 924S since it doesn't quite fit in as a 924 and it seems it doesn't really fit in with the 944. Funny thing is it's basically a 944 in a 924 body. If you take an early 944 (pre '85/1) and shave the flares you're left with a 924S.

Survey says, EERRRRRT! Wrong answer.

When I was looking for a 924S back in '98, I had a hard time finding one under $5,000.00. I hardly ever see them listed in the paper, but you see 944s listed all the time. They are sleepers if you ask me, and actually the '88 has the same motor (read more powerful than any pre 85/1 944) as the '88 944.

I remember laughing at guys who bought 914s back in the early '80s for dirt cheap prices. Maybe the 24's will be in the same boat one day

I believe the Le Mans Edition 88 924S is one of the most desirable cars in the entire series... manual windows, Mike
