Default selling early offset 15" cookie cutters w/tires

I snagged a set of 16" Boxster rims for my car, so I'm gonna need to get rid of my CC's.

Set of 4.

I striped them with Aircraft Remover, and cleaned them as best as I could. No bad dings or dents, a little rash on one of them. I would give them a 4.5 to 5 out of 10 on looks. There are areas on them that just will not clean/shine up. Metal valve stems. Hand painted (by me) center caps. Will include steel or alloy lugnuts.

They have 215/60/15 tires. 3 Toyo Proxies H4 and 1 Sirxon. The Sirxon has less than 1500 miles, the Proxies are about 75% tread left.

Will post some pics later.

I'm needing tires and spacers for the new 16's, so I'd like to get about 200 for the whole set. If not, I'll probably just try and do a trade with a local tire shop.

Anybody know what spacers I'll need to put the Boxster rims on an early offset car?

My mechanic, who races 944s, offered me $200 for my CCs and tires, so sounds like your expectation is about right. He said racers like them because they are reasonably durable and inexpensive.

goingboeing, what color is your car? You'd be surprised how stunning professionally refurbed cookie cutters look on some of the early cars.

Luis - I've contacted 3 or 4 places in the Phoenix metro area to refurb my cookie cutters, but none of them are reasonable in cost, or don't seem to have a clue what they are doing. Any idea what a decent refurb price should be, to polish the rim and re-paint the center, or what type of companies I should be contacting? My tires still have at least 30,000 miles left on them, so don't want to dump the CCs yet. Thanks.

Repaint. Some kind of silver/gray. Yeah they do look good when new or redone. I want to go to 16's, and I REALLY like the Boxster rim.

Go here for quote on refinishing your CC's.

jamiejim, expect to pay around $100 per rim for a professional refurbishing plus shipping, which is still less than just about any replacement set of wheels. I had my cookie cutters done back in 1997, but 7 years later and the last 5 of beachside condo living have done away with most of that, and I should probably do it again!

I used Rennsport, in Roswell, GA. They advertise in Pano and Excellence magazine with the slogan "Stop! Don't buy a new wheel yet."

The way it works is you order a set of refurbished cookie cutters (or whichever wheels you want, if they have them) and they send you the set with a temporary charge to your credit card until you return your cores. This way, you exchange the wheels without having to lay up your car, and return your old wheels when you're good and ready.

The professional job has the finely machined lines on the lip, enameled centers, and clearcoat over the lip. Like the Fuchs wheels, they are a bit of a pain to keep looking nice, but well worth it IMHO.

Late wheels look nice on these cars, but personally, I prefer to keep wheels contemporary with each model's production year.

Luis - thanks for the info. I'll check them out, and if I don't have to go without my daily driver during the refurb process, that makes it easier.

Spacers should work out to be around 29mm figuring a 52mm offset on the Boxster rims and a 23mm offset on the cookies.

James,
Get with Brian on the 16" tires. He has a set in stock (wink, wink). You can have my dibs on them if you want. I'm pretty sure he wants to move them out of the garage as soon as possible and I can't find space for them right now.
On the wheel spacers, I've got a list around some place. I'll look for it tonight.

I bet I know where those came from and if they did they will not work on the Boxster wheels too wide.

Yeah, you know 'em. I never got around to doing anything with them. Too busy screwing up other things.

Bummer - in that case I'll take back my dibs.
If they will not fit the twists, are they going to fit the phone dials?
