hey everyone, new here, first post, etc etc..

anyways, i am looking at buying an 84 944 that is ~200 miles away. before i make the drive, i was hoping some of the taller guys in the crowd can speak for the interior room. i am 6'6" and this thing has a sunroof, do i have a chance of fitting!?

There's more room than you would think, I know 6ft people who borrow mine and with the seat all the way back they can't reach the pedals.

 

I am 6'5" and I fit with room to spare. In fact I can't push the seat all the way back as I won't be able to reach the pedals properly if I do.

 

great, thx for the info! sounds like leg room wont be a problem, what about head room? with the sunroof shut, does your head brush against it?

I am 6ft, and I fit comfortably in with a race helmet on (roof installed). I even could fit my fingers between helmet and roof. You should be fine.

 

Im 6'3..and theres plenty of room to spare. Youll be fine. 944's have a lot more room than 911's!

 

Im 6 and I also cant have the seat all the way back. Lots of headroom. My dad is 6' 4" or so prolly, he also has to have the seat a bit forward from full back and he has headroom.

Whatever you do, dont try the back seats

And get the habit of closing the sunroof latches... Ive almost wanged myself good a few times with it.

 

You may have to remove the sunroof for helmet clearance during events-
You will fit fine.

 

I am not tall but I have found that the best way to enter the car is (getting in) butt first then feet.....I can't put one leg in and try to sit down....so it butt first then legs....

I'm 6'6" and I fit in the car without any clearance problems. Headroom is fine, leg room is fine. I have longer legs than torso, so I have my legs bent a little bit more than I would like, even with the seat all the way back, but it's in no way uncomfortable. A friend of mine moved his seat rails back about an inch and his car is exactly right for me with the seat all the way back. I'll probably be moving the seat rails shortly!

 

People never seem to believe me, but I swear the 944 has more legroom than any other car I've ever driven. It's the only car I've ever had to move the seat forward to reach the pedals

 

yeah, all agree its pretty accomodating to taller folk (6' 5" here)
