Well I think I'm gonna stop thinking and just buy them soon

One last question Skip, when I order the coilovers I need the ones for non-m030 struts, correct? The fronts should be easy enough to change...and I'll get to learn how to index torsion bars...mmmm fun stuff!

Yes, not M030. You need the kit for non-rebuildable struts - 944ARHK-NR

Thanks! I've been doing some research this morning making sure my chocies for spring rates match up...300# w/28mm torsions. The PO of my S2 has that same setup on his 89 951 and it seems to be pretty good.

You'll be getting an order from me soon! Thanks again for all your help Skip!
Just as a final check is there anything else I should make sure I buy with this stuff besides the coilover kit and the torsion bars? I don't wanna get halfway into the job and realize I need something else!

I would highly recommend the Delrin inner and outer spring plate bushings.

Also, to get the most out of your ride height kit, you'll want to chop off your lower spring perch cups (leave 1/4" to hold threaded sleeve). It's not absolutely necessary, especially with the S2 struts, but it does make a whole lot cleaner look and allows full unimpeded travel of the lower perch.

Yes we were planning on trimming that lower perch down to make it look more sanitary. I'll have to think about those bushing..they're kinda pricey!

You can consider the Weltmeisters for a bit less - they are just as hard. However, they tend to squeak a bit after 6+ months even after lubing with the "magic" lube. For track cars they are fine - I don't recommend them for street cars unless you want to modify them for grease channels and insert zerk fittings.

If time is not too much of an issue, you could wait and see what shape your rubber bushings are in. Some folks have crumbs, some do not.
