Default People in sunny states: what wax works best for UV protection?

I pulled the cover off of the 951 for the 1st time in a month or so to fire the it up and take a drive. I noticed the roof of the car is starting fade and want slow the process. I currently use meguiars carnauba wax but it doersnt mention anything about UV protection on the container. I want to put a fresh coat of wax up there tomorrow before it gets covered up again.

TIA

Meguire's NXT generation claims to protect against UV, among many other things. Its quite easy to use and works better than zymol, turtlewax, and some others i have tried.

Its a bit pricy at $15 but worth it.

What about just having crappy paint to begin with? Then you don't care.

Just use Zaino's - unbelievable results - google search for the wax comparison reports on the web.

I'm a Zaino fan also. It seems to last longer than other stuff I've used, and gives a great shine.

Einszett products are much easier to use than Zaino. There is nothing wrong with Zaino, but it is more expensive and a bigger undertaking. The other thing you need consider is that your paint is actually suffering from oxidation which is normal. Most of us have single stage paints and they will start to look a little chalky.

The best solution to that is to polish and then protect. Here is an option to get your car looking nice:

1. Polish the car with this: http://www.autopia-carcare.com/1z-930806.html
2. Protect car with this: http://www.autopia-carcare.com/1z-930206.html

Or you can buy a kit with everything you need:

Einszett products are some of the easiest to apply. I suggest getting a spray bottle from Target or Wal-mart and pouring some of the Glanz wax in. You can then spray it over the car and spread with an applicator. Let it haze for 10-15 seconds and wipe off.

For the Metallic Polish, you can just apply it with a cotton terry cloth and a little elbow grease, not a ton of pressure though. You will notice a substantial increase in shine.

There are other options out there like Klasse, Meguiars, Platinum, Poorboys, and they all work well, but I believe Einszett gives you the most bang for the buck and the best ease of use.

Good luck,
Max

Cool, I use Einszett, too.

Your paint is probably starting to oxidize. I think it's klasse that makes a product called "all in one" that works great on removing oxidation. I think most people would be better off switching to a synthetic sealant instead of using a natural wax. They protect better and last way longer, but don't seem to have quite the "depth".
