Default Big Reds/calipers in general

Big Reds have been milled down 12mm, both mount pts, for prior custom application. Question is can this be used with spacers to return to stock caliper mounting height. Note: to be used on 86 951 with LR Adapter kit.

After second thought, I might not...
I can imagine using spacers in place of the solid material that was removed might introduce a bending force into the middle of the mounting stud (or bolt).
But I'm not a mechanical engineer. Are there any real mechanical engineers present?

Make up spacers that fully cover the mounting surface where the bolt threads into the spindle and then the load surface is identical. The key is to tight the bolts in steps and use a torque wrench for the final setting of the bolts. The spacer width is less than 1/2 inch. The bolt needs to be at least 12 mm longer, use grade 10.9 for security.

Spacers is no problems, just use the correct torque on the bolts.

Help identifying red caliper. It was previously Black. Pistons 36/44 Big Black??? Sanded caliper is from 89 944 turbo (928 S4) for comparison.

If Red caliper is in fact a big blk/big red I'll need the shiny metal clips x 4 that hold pads.
