Default 924 1980, no spark!

From one day to another.. I got no spark anymore!. After a lot of searching and measurement i found that the coil in the distributor (picture) did not have any Ohm resistance at all and I think thatīs where the fault is. Can I replace that coil only or do I have to replace the distributor with everything?. I tried to dismantle it, but i canīt get the coil off. Any ideas anyone?

I had almost the same issue with mine. As the car heated up the coil would breakdown and the car would cut out, let the car cool down and back in business. The cool send a ‘fire’ signal so if that’s not happening then no spark! I rebuilt the distributor with a new coil, getting the c-clips off was the hardest part. Might be asked to just buy another distributor?

I got the c-clip off and the retaining screw as well, but i canīt get the 4-armed rotor off. I can lift it a bit, but no more. Iīm a little bit worried to damage it.
Did you find a new coil or did you rebuilt or repair it?

Paragon used to sell the pickup coil; I've replaced them a couple of times.

Yes, the 4-armed rotor comes off; just need to pry it off with two screwdrivers, one on each side. It's a press fit.

Thank you so much for input!
First thing to do now, is to order a new pickup coil!
