A/C high & low side pressures; Amount of oil needed?

I'm about to have my A/C vacuumed and recharged and have a couple of questions.
The sticker on the fender calls for about 34ozs of R-12, but what about the pressures on the low and high side? I don't have a way of measuring the amount of freon entering the system and the original drier is being replaced, so the sight-glass method is out.
Does anyone know what the optimal & factory pressures are?
Also, I've heard that ~4 ozs of oil is what our A/C systems take and that's what I'll go by. Can I add some into the drier or is it supposed to all go in the compressor?
Thanks in advance and stay cool.

Put it in the compressor. Even if you put it in the dryer it will make it to the compressor. r-12 will run a little less than 10psi per ambiant air temp. 80F = roughly 60-80psi. r-134a is a little closer to 10psi per degree.
