Thanks Andy!
I do enjoy driving an M3!
But for some reason a big honkin 540i appeals to me! I need mental help I guess.

Marc, I love the E36 M3, fantastic car. Would make a great replacement daily driver imho...It would be one of my top picks if I ever quit wasting money on my 951.

personally i would never buy or sell a car on ebay. in the rare event i bought one i'd be sure to look at it first. so then you have to assume that you'll get mostly locals. i'd either go rennlist or go local.

my $.02

In August '03 I put my white 944 up on ebay. Lots of casual lookers, a few serious ones. Ended up selling it outside of ebay to a local guy for a decent price, but a little lower than I should have.

In retrospect, I should have tried Autotrader first (online & local). That way, a specific price is already out there, eliminating that major question.

My dad's got an e36 M3 now and had an older 5 series before that. Both have tons of torque and a lot of fun to drive. I never drove the 5, but he said he didn't like it as much. He tracked both cars a good bit and though the 5 was too big and heavy for the engine in it. IT was a good daily driver though.
Having never driven or seen a 968 in person, I can't comment to much on that one other then to say they're beautiful cars. Personaly I'd go for either that or an M3, but that's just me.

i sold my rx7 through ebay. had a few people call to lowball. one guy from Denville NJ wanted to set up an appt. i told him come out saturday. another from NH asked how low i would go to end the auction. i said 72. he emails back would you do 7.

then the denville guy calls i tell him there is action from a guy in NH to end it early. he says i owe him the courtesy of looking at the car. i say 72 firm. bidding is up to 68.

he comes out saturday morning, looks at the car (which was cleaner then the S2 i just bought) looks at every receipt from new, goes back to his car comes in with 7200 cash.

i follow him home take my plates off, he drives me to newark and i take the train home.

good cars speak for themselves. i got this S2 from the sunday times, and the 86NA with 47k i looked at was in the sunday times too. a lousy place for an old porsche if you ask me.
