Stuck Transaxle drain plug remedy...
I changed out my transaxle lube to Redline MT-90 today and for those of you who cannot remove the drain plug (like me) I used a pump from a kit that replaces the lube in the lower unit on an outboard boat motor. Just put the hose in and pump the old gear oil into a container. I used an old Lubro-Moly bottle ( they have a fill hose that pulls out of the bottle) to refill, easy as pie.

Woah, that's great! I want to change mine over to Redline, too.

NAPA sells a suction gun that I use to fill the transaxle. It will also remove the fluid from the transaxle. One pint capacity, 11" tube part 715-1245, costs about $15.

I wish i had a pump when i changed my tranny fluid. I used a little 10 ounce brake fluid contained and painfully put it in with a funnel. Took me like 45 minutes and 3 liters (1 liter spill factor) to get it all in.

Honestly the suction gun works great for filling the transaxle. Real low tech solution that's been used for years.
I put MT-90 in my LSD transaxle a couple of years ago. Shifting is much easier when its really cold. And it may be my imagination, but it seems to me that the sychros grab sooner. Its hard to find unless you mail order it. I managed to find two places in Atlanta that carried it, and one was out at the time.
