You have to ask yourself these questions: "Do I want a drag racer or a true sports car?" "Do I want top-notch build quality or subpar mass-produced quality?" "Do I want rarity or commonplace?" "Do I want speed with balance and style, or just speed?" There is so much more to a Porsche, any Porsche, than just speed. There are intangibles in a Porsche that just can't be described, only experienced, which often begets the inexplicable "Porsche" grin that accompanies the driver at every turn. If you have truly sensed those Porsche intangibles during your time behind the wheel or your S2 Cab ("Driving in its purest form"), I can't imagine your
parting with the "Marque of Excellence." Good luck in your decision.

You gotta be in sales. intangibles? isnt that like goodwill? where i come from goodwill the same as paying for something you cant touch. Kinda like the extra $ paid for the name porsche.

 

Tom R., no, I'm not in sales, just passionate about Porsche. Every Porsche I have ever driven has always elicited a very special feeling that can't be described, only experienced. I've never felt this in any other brand of car I've driven. I'm glad my passion for Porsche cars served as a source of amusement to you, at least.

I can appreciate that. But have you driven a supercharged 5.0L Mustang too? I have. The breakneck acceleration is quite addicting. I miss my '91 from time to time. However...stoplight acceration measures about 10% of a vehicle's total potential. Where does an old 5.0L rank on that other 90%???

That being said...I'd keep the S2. It's a more mature car. If you're 16 and into picking up white trash hoochies, by all means, keep the Mustang.

But I think the S2 offers so much more...refinement, handling, balance, road feel, *RESALE VALUE*, etc. (the other 90%).

Sell both and get a 951 add about $1000 in mods and you'll be around 275 rwhp! Mustang's of that era are built on the Fox chassis dating from 1978, remember the Zephyr and Monarch, same chassis!

 

Right now I have two cars, a '94 968, and a '99 SVT Mustang Cobra. And because I can't afford two cars right now, I'm keeping the Porsche.

I love the rumble and the torque of the V8, but the Porsche is just a better car in so many respects.
