Car definately has the original dip-n-sag struts and shocks! I love my Koni Yellows! They just eat up bumps--and no more brake dive!

What struck me about Tom's new car...with 50k, the front end felt tight, the shifter was smoothe, the clutch seemed to bite earlier...and there wasn't a rattle! Even the hatch/glass seal was perfect--no peeling black around the top edge!

Tom was driving home at about 5:00. I assume he's eating, and soaking in his new purchase.

I'm old but I think the correct term from my perspective is CHERRY. Very nice buy, great color and paint; I've never seen a burgundy interior look so nice. It's hard not smile in the pics isn't it? That's a good sign.

Congratulations Tom!

The seats look brand new, save for a tiny bit of driver's bolster wear. And the interior smelled nice and fresh. No gas fumes there! Also, the interior color is darker...not as "pink". Camera flash doesn't do burgundy justice!

Assuming the clutch will last, all Tom really needs right away is the cam chain tensioner (or just the pad), and full belts/rollers/pump job. A solid weekend day of 3M Hand Glaze followed by some good carnuba...and his car is set!

FIRST OFF I HAVE TO THANK DENISE, MARIA AND JILL.

If Denise and Maria didnt let their husbands come out and play with me today, and if Jill didn't let me leave at 11am only to return around 6pm leaving her alone to watch the baby this awkward deal would not have happened. The three of us are lucky to have great gals behind us.

lets describe the car, and you guys figure out a range. the few of you that know (pete) dont spoil it.

when i called the guy about the car he wouldnt give me the vin for a carfax when i called last week.

stone gray, burgandy partial leather 89S2. 54477 miles, spare, jack, toolkit airpump never used. carpet in great shape, no fading on rear carpet. just a little wear on the drivers bolster, no tears in pass seat on seam in front. 10 speaker stereo, tires are about ready. coolant overflow tank is clear, no milkshake (what a surprise).

a small dent over the d/s fender about 2" long right at the ridge/lip. cracking paint, not noticeable unless you look. ding in front of d/s mirror, and a few other dings and chips.

car shimmys at 60+ but not major, cruise worked the one time i tried it, car idled smoothly, drove correctly. it felt lighter, more go cart (NA) like then my red S2, that was noticed by Jill, my brother & me.

the belts were changed in 98 when the car had 44k miles, three entries on carfax consistent, but 15k was put on in 6 months. who knows. paint all looks original.

so whats it worth?

i will post the story later. right now i am in major AK mode with Jill. got floors to mop, bathrooms to clean etc. she loves it when i get new toys.

Great looking car. Congratulations. The 968 wheels would look good on it.

Funny how Tom manages to find the small dings and dents. That car is damned clean! It has that "I wasn't used too much, so all my parts look new" look! Didn't notice ANY rock chips on the front either:

All, Tommy. I'll play. You paid $5000. I guess low ONLY because someone mentioned the guy didn't know what he had. Anything less than that and I'll scream bloody murder...

What's AK mode??

I said the guy didn't know what he had...not that he was a retard! $5k is just silly!
