I have found a few wiring diagrams for the plug wires to dizzy cap. Firing order is stamped on the valve cover but what cylinder is actually 1? Front of engine right? What order is the dizzy starting from bottom right clockwise?

Makes no difference really. What I mean is, I swapped 2 plug wires, thinking one of the diagrams has to be right, and the car starts and stumbles just the same. Wild right?

#1 cylinder is front on engine.

what about the distributor order

if one is the front of the engine and this photo below is correct, then my 944 was wired right.

Another thumb to the DME

As was said above, the injectors "fire" when the DME grounds them.

Separate from the CPS, given some of what you've discovered with some of your continuity testing, it may be worth your while to really inspect under the boots of your injectors, especially if you've moved the connectors (like, for instance, to get the injectors cleaned...). What I found on my car, where it was pretty clear that things were unmolested, was that the insulation on the wiring in the boots was cracking. I wasn't having any issues on that front, but it was also easy to imagine that it wouldn't be too far off and just a little bit of movement in the wiring could have started causing some real trouble.

Good luck

I didn’t read the whole thread so forgive if you’ve check this, but pull the vacuum line at the fuel damper, if it leaks fuel out the hose or fitting the damper has failed and is pulling fuel into your intake. This happened to me, to the extent it was all the way down to vacuum boost line to the DME. Also, even if it doesn’t leak, smell the vacuum hose, if it smells like fuel it could still be the damper, or at least it might tell you the fuel is being pulled into intake from vacuum lines.

So Im curious I sifted thru the threads and overall things are working just not correctly. The screw in the AFM needs to be there I would have never even touched it unless you need some mixture tune. Did you test or replace the temp sensor? Did I see that you ordered one.

New DME fixed all the problems.

White with dark tint looks good on these cars.

I'm unsure of your reply and what it means. My injectors are original and were cleaned using a professional service. The problem was the DME, it had to be replaced.

The best in my opinion. If I wasn't into originality I'd put a face-lift on it but I'm ok with the front smash bars, its not a turbo its a 83 so its not very fast anyways.

Small update she runs so good and just passed smog flawlessly. Strange it was parked for failing smog, I think it was parked for failing DME...
