Thumbs up

Pete, that's the epitome of a "944 makeover" if I've ever seen one. It's great to see you getting the car to look just like you wanted, I know you had been planning it for a looong time.

I second sticking to black calipers with the overall color scheme, and you probably recall the great write up with pics that Perry951 put on his webpage about refinishing them. Perhaps later on you could upgrade the fronts to the bigger S4 brakes that came stock on the 951S.

Those Kahn wheels look really interesting on that car. Personally, I find they give it a very "Ruf" look which I suspect is what you were shooting for. I think you'll be OK with the 968 caster blocks and eccentric bolts. I did it on my 951 for the 17" Cup1s and the ride is noticeably more firm.

Congratulations and I know you'll enjoy it as much as you deserve to!

Luis, you nailed it. I was going for the Ruf look. Ruf wheels are very hard to come by and very pricey to boot. These are the closest thing I could find.
Everyone seems to have twist or cup wheels, I wanted something a little different.

Those Kahns probably weigh a lot less than Rufs too.

That car says "Oh please Pete, please, buy me an SFR exhaust. I have been a good boy through all of this. I must sound as good as I look."

Pete-

If you want, I'll ship you my powdercoating kit so you can do them right. I have some of my black crackle powder that I used on my engine... may look pretty cool on the calipers. Let me know.

That's a generous offer Brian.
I may take you up on that later. I have about a week and a half to have the car ready for the Taj Kreuzers event.
I'm just going to clean and paint them for now. I'll redo them after the 944 Fest.

Taj should just give Pete the hardware now. Unless Perry or 968TurboS is planning a road trip, the waterpumper group has been decided.

Bah.. paint.. do it once, do it right.

I'm heading up to Indy for the race this weekend. I'll be in Cincinnati for a little while on Friday.. I'm gonna get the 951 through emissions and over to the DMV so I can have good plates for a while. This will buy me some time in Atlanta.... damn insurance laws.

I could zip up to your place after I am done and bring you the kit. (and check out the car... if I am allowed)

Let me know.

Yeah, there's no chance for any 85.5 944's with crappy paint to tie any S2 cabs for a 3rd place ribbon this year.

You're always welcome at my place Brian.
PM me when you know for sure.

Whoa Tifo, where did the avatar come from? Did I miss a memo?
