sean,
my 30 days expired saturday night. i had two hours left on saturday when i was talking to a guy about his car. i asked for the vin, and was politely told he didnt feel safe giving that info out over the phone. he then gave me directions to, and his home address! go figya!

so if i look at the car, i will need someone else to run it for me.

Take the '85...the S is a royal PITA!!

I've seen it taken apart and worked on, but not many mechanics really understand it, nor how to work on it.

As for the rollback, seen people with dislexia write a 2 instead of a 5! I'm one of them.

I would consider also doing the waterpump update that Porsche issued a tech bulletin on. Its a little pricey but worth it in the long run.

I'd keep looking and not delve into those two. Of course, taking a test drive of the local one for educational purposes never hurts. The biggest payoff in my search for a 951 was patience - not giving in and continuing the search for the right one.

I'd stick with an 8V NA for a track car. More things can go wrong with an S and you'll need to keep a closer eye on it.
