IMHO, your car is too low, other than that, I LOVE your avatar pic, 951 nose (and I know you don't want to be a 951-wannabe ) is looking good too

BTW what wheels are on it now? Your profile shows Graphite cups, but this looks like color-coded Fuchs?

hurray for rear seat delete with stereo equipment!!!

for example my rear seat delete:

i wanted to keep it a little more stealth so i put the sub in the rear spare tire well. so the only thing visible is the amp. there is a cap and distribution block in the space directly next to the amp under the flip up top.

good work on your install, but you should try to flush mount the amps, it makes the install look a little cleaner.

I personally think its better when everything is hidden. It'd be the "sleeper" of audio equipment.

ya i hav limou tint all around...my box is secured with 4 angle irons...two up top and two down below to the body of the car...i couldn't make it more stealthy because i needed a good amount of air volume for my two punch he 12's and place for my two amps to show...when the roof is off the box looks great...

how much volume do they need? the internal volume of my ish is about 1.5 ft^3 more than twice what my SoloBarics need...

all the same, congrats on actually putting your money where your mouth is... alot of people waste the time of others posting about what they're "gonna do" or "wanna do". good work on building what was right for you....

i just don't understand why you left the gaps between the box and the walls...? you could have used the rear-seat uppers locking mechanisim to secure that thing, making it a quick in/out... you know... in case u wanted to auto-X

just, imho, i think a better look would have been accomplished if you had made it more like this... (please excuse the 30 second p-chop job)... just filled out the sides, like the seat would have been... then maybe covered it in the carpet to match the trunk...

here's a picture of my install that i just recently took out... car's going on a serious diet, already lost 200+ lbs of stuff

it's also custom molded to fit in the space where my back seat was. it's just sorta wedged in there over that middle hump thingy.

i'm putting it in another car so i gotta make myself a new box to fit that one's back seat... heh

bug- AWESOME install, how's the sound with the top off (and the woofers up like that)? and what (if anything) do you do to stop cargo from flying forward?

the entire box is made from fiberglass except the top part that mounts the subs. that part is fiberboard. the middle white part is clear plexiglass with a white sheet under it with a neon light under that, so i can flip a switch and that part there will glow. the 2 flat pieces that u see resting on top of everything is just thin fiberboard wrapped in vinyl.

the sound is ungodly loud. it would shake my rearview mirror loose so if i leave the bass up, my rearview mirror would eventually just point down. i never got it spl tested, but one of my friends had a system that put out 137 db and mine would drown his out. the subs i have are 10" eclipse aluminums powered by a 1200 watt jbl amp. the amp kinda sucks, i'm getting rid of it and switching to a 1000 watt xtant amp.

as for cargo, i dont put anything back there... heh

and now, there is absolutely nothing back there. no system, no carpet, no sound proofing, just bare metal. like i said, serious diet =]

atinybug:
what problems are you having with the jbl amp? the shop my buddy works for swears by the jbl power series amps, and i've never heard a bad word about any jbl product.

i have a bp600.1 and a bp80.4 sitting around until i purchase a vehicle more suited to a full jbl sound system. i'm keeping my 924S in autocross trim where it belongs.
