Hello—has anyone installed an aftermarket tach? I’m installing a digital tach and it states to tap into the negative (green wire) on coil (generically).

The green wire going to the oem tach connector doesn’t make the tach work. In my reading here, it appears the black wire is also needed. Do you combine these two to get the proper tach output signal?
