Question Stereo wiring question - again

I had an installer put in my new Kenwood WOOX mini powered sub this weekend. Because I forgot my Blaupunkt's modular RCA out plug-in, he wired the sub to receive from the front speaker wire.

Anyway, the sub has standard RCA-in jacks, but the head unit has the wire terminal modular connector (no RCA jacks). Question is, how do I replace what I have with RCA cables, if there are no RCA outs on the head unit??

Make any sense??
Thanks!

i think you need a new head unit. You can run wire from your unit to your sub (if the amp has the right plugs for it) but i wouldnt recommend that for low pass output (a sub)....sooo ya get a new headunit man.

Did I mention that the sub is self-powered with a built-in amp? Sounds OK now, but good RCA cables will clean it up and focus the bass, or so I have heard.

The only way is a speaker to rca converter, but than you are still using the speaker wire.

Perhaps an external amp with RCA outs?

Guess I should get a new head unit then? Getting a speaker to RCA adaptor wouldn't clean up the sub, going into the sub RCA in's?

I assume I could sell my Toronto to a BMW dude for nice money. Do newer units have RCA sub-outs?

Some amps will have a high-power input that you can run from the speaker to the amp, but that way involves a new amp instead - the head unit will be cheaper.

line level converters (speaker wire to RCA) run about 20 dollars and are pretty easy to install. i agree that the sound quality is not going to be the best, but they work well for adding a sub if you want to keep the head unit you have. my brother (jaibeiber) is using one (a line level converter) on his audi going to a kicker amp powering two rockford 10's. they sound awsome, and he gets to keep the factory tape player with the cd changer, and the stock look of the dash.

I'll keep the current setup, and buy a better head unit when I get the chance.
