Default gemballa 944?

i was in easton today at a british car show.....i was yelling back and forth to a kid my age in a 1984 944 with ground effects on it. i couldnt hear what he said the brand was. i met up with him in the car show, and he said its a 1984 gemballa 944. he said he has a normal engine in there now, but he has the "gemballa" engine he is going to put back in. he said its higher compression and more power, but didnt quite know how they made it. i have never heard of this. is it true? the front and rear werent very appealing to me, but the side skirts/whatever/rocker covers/slash looked pretty good.

Gamballa made a 944 body kit, not sure if they did any engine mods to it.
Heres a link with some pictures-Enjoy-Chris

I know that Gemballa made a lot of body panels for the 944 series cars, but I am doubtfull that his car was a Gemballa-factory done car with any engine mods.

Never heard of a Gemballa 944 engine. I have seen their body stuff and don't really care for it.
