Default lower radiator hose rubbing

hey i replaced my radiator and all this week...but while i was driving my lower radiator hose cracked...apparently one of my pulleys and its drive belt was touching it as the hose expanded and moved a bit with the heat...i went straight to the dealer and got a replacement and fixed it in the parking lot where i left my car at...but i had the same problem...so i babied it home and i shortened the lower end of the hose to push it in further...has anyone else had this problem? i mean i don't think it was because of a bad installation on my part because everything was just the way it was before and works fine...thanks

I had the same problem on 2 different cars. I think the hoses are a little long. I had to cut about an inch off the small end to keep it from hitting the power steering pump pulley.

I had the same problem, except the electric fan was hitting the hose. Make sure it is at least 1 inch away. Space is very tight down there.
