Replaced old ground and......
as I was cleaning the area on the bellhousing I noticed another ground wire that has a connector to fit the same post as the main ground and it was not even attached. PO must have forgot or missed getting it back on?
Any idea what this ground was or is for? Is there supposed to be 2 connections at the bellhousing post? TIA! Dal

Yes, at least 2, some cars have 3 (and maybe more). They are supplemental grounds that ground quite a few components, like the DME. The components may still get a ground with those smaller bellhousing wires disconnected, which may be why you haven't noticed anything major wrong with the car. But they probably aren't getting as great a ground so bolt those loose grounds back up.

Iceshark....Thanks! I did connect the omitted ground but oddly enough now my cooling fans are not kicking in after reattaching it. hummmmmmmmmm?
No more bouncing gauges now though! And may seem a bit odd but I also had to clean the coil as it was really corroded and now I am getting a better spark but it also made the car temp rise just a hair.??? Dal
