I currently run 8x16" & 9x16" rims with 225/50/16 and 245/50/16 tyres and want to switch to the lightest square setup. I'm planning to go the 7x16" all around route with 205/55/16s on them.
Going to get Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres, they are pretty good for a reasonable price (100 EUR). 225s cost 70% more! Don't ask me why...

FWIW, 8x16" were not available for the early NA 1984 from the factory.

Interestingly, I've just seen in the PET 21 & 28 mm spacers. Anybody know which were to be used in which case?

I'm also going to try the 7x16" wheels on my 84, also with 205/55/16 which is the size specified in the owner's manual for that wheel. Those Michelin tires cost $175/each around here.

944 has Continental, which are also quite good. Ride is a bit rough over some surfaces but otherwise well worth the money.
I think I'm going to go with the Indy 500's, the price alone makes it really hard to ignore.

I'm going to go with the 16x7 et23 205/55/16 front and 16x8 et10.6 225/50/16 rear. Want the rear wheels to fill out the arch a bit more.
