Default non OEM cheap third party cat for '87 951?

hi all!

anyone have a model number for a cheap third party cat (catalytic converter) that will fit an '87 951? it's got the single piece crossover...

OEM is $700, and i've heard a $80 dynomax or Magnaflow will do just fine. i've also been told to go to Ron's Muffler on Shattuck ave, here in Berkeley. i'm hoping they'll be willing to install a third party cat--anyone been to them? taking the car there on monday.

thanks for any help, as always!

I know of a lister who has one in his garage, it is a rebuilt stock unit. I would not use an 80 dollar cat. con. Think of everything you ever saw that said universal fit :>)

sfr sells a high-flow cat for $300 . . . .
cheaper than OEM, anyway.
i've never heard of Ron's.
bauer porsche in oakland has been my shop since I moved to the area, and they've been doing a great job. they sell exhaust components and the owner drives a 951.
