Default Lowering rear end

I've heard that the stock 944 rear can be dropped some to even it out more with the front, with corresponding advantages in handling. Has anyone done this? How big of a job is it? Does the car bottom out? Pros / cons?

Those bolts are pretty large, but it's a simple procedure. I've never bottomed out and my car is one of the lower ones I've seen (I'd like it a bit lower too, but we'll have to re-index the T-bars for that). No cons as far as I can tell. Braking stability is improved as well.

WTF I was sitting there thinking about this exact topic last night.

Yes, the rear eccentric bolts. Have fun tho, I think mine must have been torqued to 300 ft/lbs or so (is this how tight they SHOULD be?) and it took loads of liquid wrench, several rounds with an impact gun, then me jumping on an 18" breaker bar to get them loose.

I posted this jpeg in a thread with the exact same title a few days ago. I hope it helps (hint: that's my polite way of referencing the "search" function):

Same here, but it was worth it.....! It looks so much better now...
