Hi All, Reaching out to the cosmos wondering if anyone has a working cooling fan relay , part # 944.615.104.01 available / for sale for my 86. Seems mine is pooched and can’t seem to find one that will ship to Toronto. Appreciate any direction you can provide. Thanks !

Has the part/pn been updated since '86?

May want to look at the ftech9: https://www.ftech9.com/new-products/...-944-amp-968-1

@gwshark - you said that your relay has failed - what are the symptoms that you experienced to determine the relay was the issue?

In my 86 944 Coupe I started to notice the temp moving up and down between the two white lines, this had not been normal, I found that one of the low speed resisters was open, I replaced the resistor and for a few days the temp was solid on the lower white line, then suddenly, the temp is moving around again, seemingly intermittently. Both fans are coming on at low speed both with the AC button pressed when cold and when hot, but I am not sure as to whether the fans are coming on at high speed. I noticed that the FAN relay is rather warm/hot to the touch, after an evening drive.

Seems I need to look at the relay and possibly the thermal sensor/switch that controls the fans?

Thoughts?

If you need to diagnose the relay or any other part of the cooling fan system I strongly suggest you take a read through this:
https://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/cool-01.htm

How to test both the relay and the thermo temp switch are listed in the guide, as well as other components

I'd give WhaleTail Canada (no affiliation) a call. They're just down the road in Waterloo (so to speak). They advertise as stocking parts from the 356 to the 997. You can find their website here.
