If the angle adapter has a shrader valve in it, remove the valve core from the compressor fitting. You only want one shrader valve core otherwise when charging, the refrigerant will trickle into the system, if at all.

That's an excellent tip about the shorter belt and 90degree adapter - far preferable to grinding away at stuff. It is slowly getting closer to being a nice chilly early 944 for me too!!
