Sean, That's what a tach is for, my old '80 Scirocco S was a hair under 3500 rpm at 85 mph but if I kept my foot down for a couple more miles I made it to 5800 rpm, best I can figure that was around 140!

Too bad the oil temp came up so fast at that speed!

It's also too bad that Adrial's car isn't an SHO!

Adrial How many football fields did it take to stop from that speed?

Guys guys, please contain the jealousy... I know you guys wish you had a 1990 ford taurus, but they're only available in limited supply to select buyers.

I will take trades + cash from 944 n/a owners. It has to be a really nice n/a though, as I'll be downgrading to a slower car so it has to at least look fast.

Ok, I talked it over with my g-friend and we are prepared to offer you a 'fair' deal. Since we have no cash, how about her new accord PLUS my WRX AND our first born...I know it's a hair more than what you wanted, but we are willing to go that extra mile for the bonafide speedster you have in your possession.

We anxiously await your response...

you never feel the same way about speed after you peg the 160km/h speedo on 2107 Lada with the E36 325is engine in it I love those 85 mph speedos on 70's US 930's.

Almost makes me miss the dark grey metallic 89 Taurus POS I had. Lovingly referred to as "The Stealth-mobile".

Absolutely no one noticed it. Even the cops as I sped past a 911 who was later pulled over by the Ill. State Police. I thought they had got me! Was about the funniest driving experience I ever had. The entire car actually blended into the color of the road.

I miss the smell of rusting.

Haha, this reminds me when my aunt was asking me to check her car out. She has a early 90's cadillac sts and it has a message box on the dash. So she was telling me how it said "Change your....oh gosh, i forgot..umm." So I say, "car?" (It was actually oil)

It was quite funny at the time, everyone laughed.

Adrial,

What gear are you in??? Did you peg the speedo in first?

it seems to indicate on the cluster that the car is in "O" for overdrive.
