how much would shipping to cali (91302) be. I'm interested if it stays cheap, because not only will those extra components be nice to have, but I want to take it apart, learn all about the engine, then rebuild it back to glory! then I can find some cheap non running 944 to revive with this engine!

Eyal,

I may go in with you on it. I might be able to use a few parts from it. What do you think? It may be manageable with 2 people to split the cost. I'm not really concerned with the details but let me know what parts you think you'd want to keep. I just might need a few odds and ends for my rebuild.

Jai,

Looks good to me. I'm usually more interested in pictures rather than text, and you have a few there. Could you let us know what shipping might cost to zip code 90740? If you put it in two boxes, each box should be well under the ~85 lb USPS heavy limit.

shipping to cali would be alot i would think. my new engine cost $430 to get it here from texas.

maybe the misc. parts would be under 85 lbs but the block will be more.

i have no idea how high this will go. but it will be interesting to see.

I don't think the block would be more than 85 lbs. It's only a 4 cyl alloy. V8 cast iron, yeah. But not a 944 block!

Heck, my whole 944S was 675 to ship!
