I've had one for a couple years now...got it off ebay, some company in florida who made them was selling off "factory defective" ones...by that they meant the paint job screwed up...I got mine, it's blue, and there is nothing wrong with the paint! I loved the immediate change of feel in the pedal, I wouldn't go back...what I really want is a short throw shifter to compliment it...

I simply modified the cam on my '84 with a dremel so that the cable attaches further around on the cam, eliminating the "arm" part from touching the cable at all. Took about 10 min and you get the same effect. If you don't like it, just re-attach it in the stock location and you're set.

Then again I suppose you can always just re-adjust it.
When changing to the circular cam i needed to readjust the cables to get the WOT stop point and kickdown point correct. Took some trial and error but was not too tough to do.

Serge944, that's pretty much it. The car is about an hour away from me now, but if it's still needed, I can get a photo of it this weekend.

My PO put it on, so I dont know what it feels like without one. Is it really that much of an improvement?

Mike, I looked at the cam and understand what you did, so I don't really need a picture. Did you have to drill 2 holes - one for the cable end and one for the rod that sticks up through the cam? Did you just turn it over? How did you decide where to put the hole?

Pearceman, Let me know if the odo gear fixes the problem. Mine is not broken, just slips on the shaft.

Just measure how much further the cable end would need to be so that the throttle cable doesnt touch the arm part of the cam. You can take the cam off the little pin, and rotate it to see about where you would want to drill, shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks, Serge. Think I'll try flipping it over. That way I won't have to deal with the hole for the pin.

Now that i think about it....if the arm gets in the way of the cable when you flip it over...you may have to drill another hole for the little rod. But just line it up with the hole for the cable end and itll be all good.
