oil pressure gauge going haywire!
Hello, recently my oil pressure gauge has been acting up, I mean, acting very jittery, so much it peeks at above 5, and hits 0 5-10 times in a second, making a clicking sound because it is going from top to bottom very fast. At first, this was only at idle, and when I drove it would be at maximum.
But now, just yesterday, while driving, the oil gauge is still jittery, while driving, and the check engine in conjunction with the oil pressure light light up flashing, and going in and out of bright, dim.
The oil pressure light, and check engine light never seem to go completely out, yet never stay fully on.
I was thinking this might be a sensor problem, unless there is a common cause for this. I have plans to take the car in to get checked out, but just thought I would get some insight to what would be happening. Thanks!

interesting..
My oil light is flashing continously now. Oil level and pressure are fine, no oil starvation whatsoever. Bad sending unit or ground is suspect in my case.
