Motor Werks Pink Pig 944 spotted
On Sunday July 31st at around 11am:
Spotted the Motor Werks Pink Pig 944 heading east on Route 2 (Williston Rd.) in South Burlington, Vermont - near the Airport.

Pretty neat to see one around. I really like a lot
of their builds. Would be a blast to have a 2,000lb rocket. In the process of getting my v8 car down. Would love to get 2500 in a street car with half a tank.

I've scanned all the pix and info I could on their cars...
I remain skeptical on their weight figures!
At one point I had mine down to 2325 with the stock motor and half tank.
Swapping in the 1.8T, reinstalling a lightened front bumper and a simple aluminum crash bar under the fiberglass rear cap brought me up to 2350.
Other than switching to 'glass doors (mine are gutted and no windows), there isn't really much left to remove.
No undercoat
Minimal wire harness
No unneeded brackets
Race seat/zero interior
'Glass dash
Plastic windows (all)
Don't see where another 300lb might come from!
Nevertheless, they did turn out some nice looking stuff.
I can only imagine the customer cost on one...

Some of their cars are converted to tube frame fronts (and some are not) so likely going way beyond what most of us can effectively do for weight reduction. Look at their john player special tribute for instance:

Personally I think it's a little excessive to post where and when you "spotted" someone's personal property. While it's surely not your intention, it almost sounds like you're stalking it.
As for the car itself I don't consider it anything well-done or special.
You could get one under 2k lbs if you wanted to. A Bentley GT3 weighs 2000 lbs less than the street car on which it's based. How much do you want to spend?

Yep.
I could build a tube frame silhouette car, with a carbon torque tube....
But there's not very much weight left to be removed using a stock tub, even cutting out the front sheet metal.

I was wondering if there was an event here that I was missing out on.

Deviating a bit OT...
Wife and I browse a lot of real estate.
Driving around an extremely modest neighborhood, passed a house with the garage door up a little bit.
Carrera GT inside. Worth as much as the house.
I told ALL my friends.
