Bartering a 944 for a Projection Screen TV!
This is NOT a joke! I have a friend who is looking for a Big screen TV Projector for his Projections Screen.
Value of the 944 or older BMW will depend on make, model and condition of the projector.
We are serious! Either post in here, or you can email me at: Julie@azraelstudios.com

Hmmmm. . . so if I could. . . say. . . "acquire". . . a good quality, movie-theater grade projector it might be worth a 951? Hmmmm. . . the possibilities. . . My evil side awakens!
I bet I know who it is too

For a 951, it BETTER be worth $10K!
I said 9-4-4, not a turbo, silly!
Hey, I help my friends out, I'm a good buffer, lol. My bite is worse than my bark!
Come on, people, make an offer! Then we can see what kind of car you can get.

You rock!
triscadek, thank you for bringing up the correct digital filter! Someone mentioned to me something digital, but I wasn't sure what.
You rock, dude, you rock!

I still have friends in Claremore, lol. Last time I ws there, I was lusting over his Pantera! They had a few Opels from when they were racing them, and asked me if I'd like to buy them.
Anyway, I was out there 2 years ago, and have been thinking of visiting again, and go to New Orleans.

I think it's a digital 3 strand filter, but I'd ask a salesperson at C City or B Buy.
Anyway, the range in price you're going to spend on a projector can be between 1200 and 5000+ dollars. You need to do quite a bit of homework before you decide to trade a car for a projector. Plus, if your friend is the type to watch a lot of TV, the bulb's in a projector need to be replaced every 1000 to 2000 hours ($500 a bulb).
Good luck projector hunting. Spending the right amount of money, can give one hell of a setup.

I traded a very nice late 80's Ovation acoustical guitar and case for a 19" Compaq monitor. The guitar had a darker area on the lower bought (body) where the PO had a three inch round sticker. The guitar must have been hanging up in a shop where indirect sunlight could have changed the tops color with the exception of the area covered by the sticker.
The monitor was also used but less than two years old. The fellow lives just over an apartment unit and comes by once in a while when he has computer questions. He sees the monitor (I'm using it now) and wants to trade back. I explain to him that few monitors live past five years of major use but guitars will last a 100 years with decent care.
So think about trading a very nice 20 year old car for an electronic device that will last maybe another 8 to ten years. Bet the nice 20 year old car will last longer than the eye popping big screen display -- all things considered.

Friend of mine bought a projector off of craigslist for about 400. Another 400 for the bulb, probably ~300 worth of computer equipment, and its a hardcore digital theatre system. Like anything, this project can be a relavitvely cheap and educational experience, or an expensive, possibly ill thought out one. If you do a cheap one yourself, you know exactly what you want the next time, if you feel you need to upgrade. Big screens are nice.
That in mind, its too bad I'm a fairly moral person or it'd be easy to get a projector from school :-P.
