Actually some magazines have done road tests with those cruisers and they fail to match up in many cases to their regular counterparts, especially in many cases now where they are going to FWD cars with no engine upgrades. Police cars are HEAVY. They carry several hundred pounds of extra stuff stock. Top end suffers because of the lightbar and acceleration is lost due to the extra weight.

They look pretty close, but I see all kinds of upgraded Mustangs around here, both 6-cylinder and GT, funniest thing just about is a Mustang with a big honking body kit on it running with stock 16" GT wheels which look teeny tiny in their holes with the body kit.
