Default droning from right rear

Ok I'm still trying to locate the source of a droning noise at the right rear. I just changed the rear wheel bearings 2 weeks ago so they are eliminated as the cause. It gets much louder past 60mph, and if I swerve back and forth in the road at moderate speed it's definitely louder when swerving right, which should be unloading the right rear. I know I have heard my CV's click in the past though they haven't done it in a long time, but I don't think I've ever heard Cv's "drone". It seems that the noise is not very noticeable at low speeds (under 40MPH) the first 2 or 3 miles I drive the car. That seems to point away from it being a tire problem. I need ideas here..............

I have exactly the same problem on my 85.5. Am hoping it is a bearing (I have new ones ready), and btw I already replaced my CVs. Sometimes it seems to go away once I have driven 20 minutes or so; lately its getting worse.

On my car that was a bad rear wheel bearing. CV joints only 'click' when you hit the gas.

Did you repack those bearings well? One might not have seated properly or just plain been bad or leaked. . .

It's a late model car with the single sealed bearing, and it was seated fully as the snap ring went back on. I'm hoping to find a cause other than the bearing at the transaxle, though that wouldn't make sense that it would be noisier when unloaded.

Does your car keep making the noise when you are crusing down the road, then put it in neutral?

My car started making droning noises after I'd fitted Boxster wheels and P-zeros. Changed back to the old phonedials and SO3's (temporarily) and noise was gone. I guess wear patterns from the previous car, but I've had tyre drone on others - Michelins seem particularly prone to this.
