Exclamation Clunky shifting

So on my 87 924S when I shift I get a clunk and if I am in gear and come off the throttle I get a clunk also. Some one much more experienced than me thinks it is in my clutch. I was thinking dropping the transaxle and have it checked but if it is in the clutch can that be worked on with out removing the tube to the back?

OK, got home and pulled out the Haynes, ouch! A lot to do to fix a clutch, but if going to be doing all that work at guesstimate about 100k on the car. Any good upgrades to the clutch?

I had the same clunkiness you describe and, sure enough, it was the rubber center on the oe clutch that went. Changing it wasn't that bad. It just took a while. If you can possibly afford it, now is a great time to do the torque tube bearings as well.
