Here's a new sound clip i got of my S2 with a 2.5" SFR catback.
Everything else is stock. I just felt this one captured it a little better. I still need to find someone to ride along and record it under full throttle! Thats the best!

I just spent the last hour looking up exhauts for a 944 i dont have yet...this makes me want one even more. Im wondering how i could get around my fathers rule of "keep it stock". Suspension mods are easy, but a mirror finish exhaust may be tough
. Maybe a polish with sandpaper, a wire brush and a coat of flat black paint would help.

Easily, the SFR SHOULD have been stock. So once he hears it, it shouldnt be an issue! It looks stock, and once he drives it around and steps on it, there should be no question which exhaust belongs on there!
Exceptions can always be made!

Check out SpeedForceRacing.Com
They make a custom exhaust system for all of the 944 models. Should fit the '84 without a problem. Im kinda wishing i bought one during the last group buy to of saved the extra money, would have looked nice proped up against my wall awaiting a 944 to install on.

Best way to get your exterior audio would be to have 2 people help you....get them in a chase car and have them record from the outside as well as you go by them....I got some pretty nice audio that way myself. Of course you'll need a windsock to help with the wind noise!

funny thing happened yesterday, the first 80 degree day in central wis.
took my 89 s2 to work with my new sfr catback.... about a 15 min drive,
and after work it took me almost an hour to get home!!
had to drive by the local ricer hangout and got a lot of hard stares!!!
none of them wanted to come out and play either???
why is that???
i don't know if its the sound, but i think i picked up a bit in throttle
response, it just seems to have a bit more snap...
have fun

I dont think the weight reduction is slight...the stock cat-back is HEAVY AS CRAP!
(ok, in the overall picture its slight...)
Anyone found a garage yet? You guys gotta hear it in an enclosure! Its sick!

Yeah, I was under the impression the stock piping on ALL models was appx 2.25". If this is true, then the 16V and Turbo would benefit greatly from a more free flowing exhaust than one designed for the 8V!
Can anyone verify here?

I have the same but have the test pipe as well (no cat) Its even loader. As Tim a SFR said, "It's farrari like" While I'm at it I have Tims Stage II SC. when you are on full throttle / boost the sound is incredible. The Rices scatter like cockroaches
