Well been busy with jet ski stuff Etc. hopefully back to the car today and hopefully rolling this weekend. I took the rear exhaust off the the trans removal and the tip housing it rusted beyond a refit if you will. Who has done what and at this point a simple chrome tip from the local parts house or Summit maybe. Give me some input or what you guys like.

 

Had the same issue a few years ago - Magnaflow makes a stainless steel tip that is almost a perfect match to the factory tip. Can't find the receipt right now, but I believe it is similar if not actually this piece as seen on Summit Racing's site

 

I also bought a Magnaflow SS tip [#35159 & about $50 cdn] after the original one rotted out. Tacked it on and it looks/works good. Before that I had made the mistake of getting a OEM tip but the 'steel wool' between the tip and pipe had rotted and it was going to be a pain to install. It is still hiding someplace in the shop.

 

Bought this:


Placed it in a vise, gently crushed it until oval, then welded to remains of tailpipe. Indistinguishable from factory and a lot cheaper than a muffler.

 

Alright very helpful. The inner workings of the tip are rotted out so I need to grind/cut out or off what down to the original tail piece and see whats left.
