Hello everyone,
So I have bought my Porsche 944 (1983) 6 months ago. Runs great and I am enjoying working on it a lot!
But ofcourse it has it flaws and that is that my rear light behaves very strangely.
Every time I check them, they behave differently. Currently, I have removed the center console and dashboard. I am cleaning up the contacts and I have read that it's smart to also clean the ground contacts.
So what is happening (vids in the attachment):
- Turn signals blick too fast (first just one, last time they both did)
- Hazard light makes also 3 different lamps glow
- Fog lights back don't work (the first one of the two worked)
- When the turn signal is on and I break, the brightness down a lot.
The last owner installed a radio and cut some wires that I still have to figure out (probably for switches on the center console that were not connected)
I am new in the electrical part, so if anyone has some tips i would appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

The rear lights are earthed by bolts into the rear panel so remove and clean with sandpaper but don't add dielectric grease or anything on reattachment. The bulbs go into a galvanised plate which goes crusty so remove bulb, unclip bulb holder and sand off any corrosion on both plate and holder. You may need to bend slightly the metal to give a tighter grip on the bulb.
When all that's done, retest before going at the wiring.
