Default Tires!!!

My roomate was driving my car and he just called me and blew a tire...he must have hit a nail or something as he blew one of the rears and they have tons of tread and I just checked all the pressures and they were right on. Anybody got a set of 15s they don't want?
Thanks,
Ryan

What you mean by blew did the sidewall let go? Or is there just a nail or something like that in the tire. Get if fixed if it's fixable it will cost you no more then 15-20$

I had something like that happen recently - excuse to go get a set of Yokos. If tires get old and dryrotted / cracked, they're going to fail like that (sidewall) which can potentially be ugly as pieces go flying around. Age is just as important, if not more so, than tread wear. I'd bet those were old tires.

I had a sidewall blowout on my Z... I was just sitting in the parking lot, get in the car, turned it on and the sidewall blew out of one of my rear tires and it was only 5 months old!! To make matters worse, Pirelli discontinued the whole P7000 line so i had to get a mismatched tire, but none of that matters now because as of today the Z is sold and I am now the owner of an 84 944!!

Age is definately more important that treadwear. One of my friends just got an aniversary adition FC RX-7 that still had the factory tires on it. Needless to say, he got it replaced before it blew out.

Check tire rack. Look for the Potenza G009's. They are a brand new product, offered in our stock size 215/60/15. Should be priced BELOW the Yoko and a better product to beat!!! 50,000 mile treadwear warranty, H rated, UNI-T tire technology.

When you get a "shipped" price, go to your local Firestone store and ask them to match the shipped price. You'll have to pay the mount/balance, but you'd do that anyway. This way you don't have to wait for shipping.

thanks, the tires weren't that old, oh well. I can't afford to buy a new set so I think I'll just buy one.

Bad idea to just buy one. You should always buy full axle sets. Buy two rear tires, and have the car handle properly.
