I thought I had a done deal on a 944... was waiting for a new clutch to be put in by the owner. Then today I learn from the mechanic that the entire transmission is shot.
So I'm still actively searching for a late 944 (Guards Red), manual transmission, under $5000 (or close to). Mileage not important as long as service records are there. Thanks again...

Good luck!
I know it's easy to find one in that range in CA, not sure about your neck of the woods. If the price is right, would you consider buying one from out of state?

I have not seen this car, nor do I know what color it is ... but there is an 85.5 posted in the classified section of the local PCA's website.

Tom - never got a response from him. Maybe he sold it.
I conceded a while ago I won't find the car in North Carolina. I'm willing to drive up to 1000 miles to go get the right one. Unfortunately that leaves CA out of the question (too bad this didn't happen to me a year ago when I was till living in Orange County).
Curly - I've written them before too. But thanks for the link.
