Convert it back to stock and sell off all the goodies. It's the only way to win, unless your willing to accept pennies for all the dollars you've spent on mods. My rule of thumb is the sum of the parts is always worth more then the value of the whole.

I agree with Brian's earlier post, I voted less than 16k because the only way someone will pay more than that for an '86 951 is if it is a time capsule car, perfect condition and super low miles. I do believe that somewhere out there is someone who is looking for just what you have, but when will the two of you find each other? Plus there's always Brian's DIY tinker factor, a problem most of us have, or we wouldn't waste our time on here. Mods are a bad investment, just the fact that you've changed the car from stock will turn off some buyers, and the high price will turn off the rest. You have to consider that 16-18k will buy a very nice Carrera, or a good deal on a 964, most of these people probably aren't cross shopping modified 951s. As much as it sucks, the only way to get back the bulk of your investment is to part the aftermarket stuff, and sell the car stock. Just look at this thread, half of it is sold already! That said, if I win the lottery, consider it sold, because that is one beautiful 951.
